The British Embassy is recruiting Consular Officers
The British Embassy is looking for dynamic motivated officers who maintain high professional standards to provide Consular services and support to British Nationals in Tunisia.
The work involves regular contact with members of the public and often with people who are distressed.
Consular Officers may be required to visit prisons, hospitals and mortuaries.
It is essential that Consular Officers are able to remain calm under pressure and in difficult situations and have the confidence to liaise effectively with officials at all levels.
Consular work is not always confined to office hours or regular working days and successful applicants must be prepared to be called in the evenings and at weekends.
We are searching for candidates who respond positively to changing priorities and challenges and are able to clearly demonstrate that they:
· can speak and read English, French and Arabic
· can write clearly and fluently in English and French
· work well under pressure
· can effectively follow clear guidelines and procedures
· have strong data management and problem solving skills
· have a proven record or clear understanding of the importance of good customer service delivery
· have worked in a team and have a positive, pro-active approach to office and team work.
The successful candidates will be offered a one year (potentially renewable) contract and will receive Consular training.
The British Embassy will offer a salary that will range between 1496TND -> 2111 TND a month to successful candidates.
(Salary will depend upon the position offered which in turn will be dependent upon skills and experience).
The packages include a 13th month bonus, medical insurance and 20 days annual leave. The British Embassy offers all employees learning and personal development opportunities.
