Unix Administrator
Will be part of Unix team whose responsible for approximately 1400 OS instances within Fidelity and its subsidiaries. The estate is predominantly IBM, Oracle and PHP, running Solaris, AIX and RedHat Linux. The team is responsible for hardware procurement, installation and day to day operation of the hardware along with support and maintenance of the three operating systems

As a member of the Unix team, this role requires a broad range of technical knowledge in AIX, Redhat Enterprise Linux and Solaris. In a addition to BAU activities, and development related
Familiarity with Production Change Management System and Ticketing Service Desk architectures would be advantageous

Experience and skills:
• IT Engineer (INSAT, ENSI…)
• Any Unix certification would be advantageous (RHCSA, SCSA, IBM Certified Operator – AIX 6.1)
• 18 Months to 3years of experience of working Unix technologies
• Knowledge of Data Centers (e.g. racks, cabling lay outs, access procedures)
• Good working knowledge of Unix (at least one of these: Linux, Solaris, AIX)
• Good working knowledge of hardware (IBM, HP, Sun / Oracle)
• Working knowledge of SAN storage and host-based configuration
• Use / administration of a ticking system
• Experience with monitoring and analysis tools
• Familiarity with working in Production and Non-Production environments
